Silos & Smokestacks National Heritage Area (SSNHA) will be holding the workshop 'Outcomes-Based Planning & Evaluation: Linking Program Assessment with Grant Writing' on Wednesday, November 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The workshop will be held at the Scenic City Empress Boat Club in Iowa Falls.
The process of designing a program and writing a grant can be an overwhelming experience. This workshop will demonstrate how to cultivate an idea from the ground up using a logic model. Participants will develop and use a model that will achieve programmatic goals and attain outcomes-based measurements that are now required for most granting programs.
Dr. Jean Eells, President of E Resources Group, will be the instructor. Dr. Eells received her Ph.D. in Agricultural Education from Iowa State University with an emphasis in evaluation systems and adult learning. She has professionally evaluated several statewide programs including ISU Extension's 4-H Connect Learning and Living; and IDNR's Resource Enhancement and Protection Conservation Education Program.
'Dr. Eells' vast knowledge and experience is a great resource for those looking to improve organizational programs,' commented Don Short, SSNHA President.
Registration is due October 28 and limited to 40 participants. The registration fee is $49 per person affiliated with a designated SSNHA site and $69 per person for all other participants. Registration forms are available online under the 'Resources' section at www.silosandsmokestacks.org. For additional information contact Angi Reid, Education & Interpretation Manager at 319-234-4567 or areid@silosandsmokestacks.org.
