You will work with red earthenware clay in this class and will explore both the history of this type of clay and the possibilites of working with it. Vessels, burnishing, tiles, the figure, and sculptural work will all be covered. This class will focus on hand building techniques, but individuals with prior wheel experience are invited to throw. Bring a small bucket and basic pottery tool kit. (We have a standard tool kit for purchase, $12.)

This class is for individuals with little to no experience.
