Human Rights Film Series features four movies Nov. 3-6
The University of Iowa Center for Human Rights (UICHR) and the Landlocked Film Festival will sponsor a Human Rights Film Series Nov. 3 through Nov. 6. Admission is free to the general public. Each film screening will be followed by a panel discussion to facilitate a dialogue about the films and the various human rights issues they highlight.
The series will feature the following films, which all start at 7 p.m.:
Tuesday, Nov. 3, Shambaugh Auditorium: Milk (2008)
Wednesday, Nov. 4, Shambaugh Auditorium: Voices from Inside: Israelis Speak (2008)
Thursday, Nov. 5, Phillips Hall 100: Garbage Dreams (2009)
Friday, Nov. 6, Shambaugh Auditorium: Pray the Devil Back to Hell (2008)
The Human Rights Film Series is part of the two-week celebration marking the UICHR's 10-year anniversary. Other events include lectures on genocide and children's rights, and a full day of panels on Saturday, Nov. 14, featuring Michael Ratner, president of the Center for Constitutional Rights.
